Aleš Filipčič was the first Slovenian captain in the Davis Cup. Since 1989 he has coached as a club or personal coach several national champions, (Uros Sever, Gregor Aljancic, 1989-1993, Nik Jurjevcic, 2010-2020), Tennis Europe players (Nik Razborsek, 2006-2007),ITF players (Iztok Kukec, 1998-2004, Maja Kambic, 1997-2004), ATP players (Bostjan Osabnik, Matic Omerzel, Matjaz Pogacnik, 1998-2004) in WTA players (Tadeja Florjancic, 1988-1993), Kim Kambic, 1997-2004, Veronika Erjavec, 2008-2021). He was head coach in 3 Slovenian tennis clubs: TK Olimpija Ljubljana (1998-1993), TK Triglav Kranj (1998-2004) and Tennis Center Ljubljana (2010-2020). He is a full professor at the Faculty of Sport of the University of Ljubljana, where he has been responsible for the education of tennis students since 1990. His main research interests include tennis performance analysis, motor behavior, and testing and monitoring of tennis players. He is the author of several books on tennis, sports science, and peer-reviewed scientific articles. For more than 20 years he was the President of the Coaches Organization and Professional Council of the Slovenian Tennis Association of Slovenia. Since 2004 he has participated as an international tutor in educational projects for Internationa Tennis Federation.
